About the Event

The Creative Futures event will give you the opportunity to connect with professionals working across the arts, from music, visual art and drama, to technical production, digital screen and arts marketing and administration. It’s a chance to learn about the pathways into arts-based careers and plan your positive next steps in exploring a potential future in the arts.

The event includes interactive workshops, a panel Q&A with a group of professionals and unique opportunities for small group and 1-1 advice and networking with the professionals.

The event will take place on Friday 12 September 2025 in St John's RC Academy (North Inch Community Campus, Perth) from 10am - 2.30pm (registration from 9.30am). Lunch will be provided.

What will I learn?

The Creative Industries sector offers over 70,000 jobs in Scotland. It’s an exciting and dynamic industry, with a breadth of roles that bring our cultural activities to life. Often we don’t hear about the variety of roles and opportunities until after we’ve left school. We want to give you the connections and inspiration to start thinking now about how to turn your skills, interests and creativity into a career pathway. We’ve invited professional artists to share the advice they wished they’d learned when they were at school.

Who is the event for?

The event is for S4-S6 pupils in Perth & Kinross secondary schools. You don’t have to be actively planning a career in the arts to take part. You might simply enjoy the arts - or even have little experience of the arts - but you’re still open to learning more.
