It is with sadness but with the wellbeing of our audiences and artists as our top priority, that we have made the difficult decision that the 49th Perth Festival of the Arts will not be going ahead this May. Please see our statement for more details.
We will use this website page and our facebook page to keep audiences updated on any changes to the festival. Thank you for your understanding and support at this time.
UPDATE: Sunday 22 March 2020
It is with sadness but with the wellbeing of our audiences and artists as our top priority, that we announce that the 49th Perth Festival of the Arts will not be going ahead this May. This has been a very difficult decision to make and has been based on the most recent government advice, the uncertainty of our festival venues being open in May, and the need to ensure the wellbeing and safety of all involved in our Festival.
Our wonderful Arts Festival has run for 48 consecutive years, through both changing economic and cultural times. We now find ourselves in unfamiliar territory and like all charities and arts organisations, we will be working hard to move through this difficult period. We hope that many of our 2020 artists will be able to appear at the Festival in future years and we are particularly grateful for all their support and understanding at this time.
If you are a Festival Friend and have already bought tickets, please be assured that you will be contacted in due course by the box office. Please do not contact the box office (run by Horsecross Arts). Perth Concert Hall and Theatre are currently closed until further notice and the Horsecross team are working hard behind the scenes to get through a huge volume of work. Please bear with them if this takes a little time.
We will also be in touch with all Friends about their 2020 membership in due course. Again, this may take time while we work through everything. Thank you for your understanding.
If you have any urgent questions, you can reach our Administrator Helen on info@perthfestival.co.uk
We would like to thank everyone for their support during these unprecedented times. We appreciate this is a worrying and unsettling time for everyone and we send our best wishes to you all.
Please stay safe and well, and we hope to see you in 2021.
With best wishes,
Festival Executive Committee
UPDATE: Friday 13 March 2020
Perth Festival of the Arts is monitoring the coronavirus situation in Scotland and taking on board the most recent advice from Government to prioritise audience wellbeing and safety.
We are currently liaising with both venues and artists and are continuing to plan for the Festival's delivery in late May. This position will remain under review and there may be the possibility that some of our programming will be affected.
We are grateful to our loyal Festival audiences for their understanding as this situation develops.
Tickets will go on sale on Monday 16th March to Festival Friends as scheduled.
We will communicate any updates on events or ticket sales on our website and social media.
Our main venue partners, Horsecross Arts, have today released a position statement on Perth Concert Hall and Theatre. Please visit Horsecross Arts website to view this statement.
