Standing undeterred by the challenges of COVID-19, we are looking forward to moving most of our festival online in 2021 and have been working creatively to ensure the arts continue to be celebrated this year.
Our Festival team has been collaborating with artists from across the UK to create unique music, literature, drama and film experiences, with the goal of reaching audiences around the globe and showcasing the city’s vibrant cultural offering.
The Online Festival - running from 20-29th May - will feature a diverse series of concerts broadcast from across Perth's range of modern and historic venues including Perth Concert Hall, Perth Theatre and Perth Museum & Art Gallery.
Renowned for featuring some of the biggest and best names in music, Perth Festival 2021 will be no different. Centred around a strong classical core featuring celebrated artists such as the Scottish Ensemble, The Sixteen and The Gesualdo Six, the vibrant concert programme will also include jazz, folk, indie/rock, literature, drama and exclusive artist Q&As and inteviews.
Ticketholders can tune in for individual concerts of enjoy a range of passes that give acces to the full Festival or a specific series such as the Classical Concerts.
Festival Chairman David Brand commented: “We are excited to be preparing for as full a festival as ever and working creatively to make the online experience special and unique to Perth. We’re looking forward to opening the doors to the city’s fantastic cultural venues and hope that audiences will enjoy the new arts experiences and online connections that the Festival will offer. We are grateful to our funders, artists and audiences for their invaluable support and for accompanying us on this exciting digital journey.”
The Festival’s line-up will be announced over the coming weeks with early bird tickets going on sale Monday 5th April.
The Festival will also be running its inaugral Drive-in Cinema at Scone Palace from 21-23 May 2021.
