In the first of our relaxed jazz events, start your evening (5pm - 7pm) with a glass in hand in the osteria Bau-Bau (St John's Place), accompanied by jazz from exciting local musicians including Kimberley Tessa and ZZ Bop, the original Osteria Bau Bau “house band” starring Roberto Cassani on Double Bass, Alan Sutherland on Keyboard, Kevin Smith on percussion and Bruce Michie on saxophone.
The contemporary Italian cafe is an artistic and social hub and is the perfect place to enjoy some excellent early evening jazz.

Kimberley Tessa
Kimberley Tessa is the latest in the current rich crop of jazz musicians emerging from Scotland to be stunning audiences across the country.
Voted 'Rising Star' in the 2023 Scottish Jazz Awards, vocalist/ saxophonist Kimberley will be showcasing her original music, alongside her favourite jazz standards and more. Inspired by the voices of Ella, Amy and Badu, she brings a cocktail of jazz and RnB influence to her performances.
Roberto Cassani
ZZ Bop are the original Osteria Bau Bau “house band”; a Perth based quartet of creative modern jazzers featuring the irrepressible Roberto Cassani on Double Bass, Alan Sutherland on Keyboard, Kevin Smith on percussion and Bruce Michie on saxophone. Each musician has a different musical story to tell with influences ranging from Bebop through Prog Rock to Free Jazz informing their various playing styles. Currently the band as a whole are inspired by European Chamber Jazz and also reworking some pop classics.
