Join Mike Lovatt's Brass Pack and a special guest singer for a spectacular concert Brass Hits Hollywood featuring songs from much-loved MGM Musicals and Hollywood's biggest movies. 

Audiences can enjoy sparkling numbers from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, South Pacific and Gone with the Wind right through to John Williams’ Star Wars, Harry Potter and Raiders of the Lost Ark, Marvel / Pixar treats from The Incredibles, The Avengers and Toy Story, and much more!

West-end star and guest vocalist Anna-Jane Casey joins the orchestra for a throwback to MGM musicals with big hits from Kiss Me Kate, Funny Girl, The Sound of Music and My Fair Lady.

This hand-picked Brass Orchestra, founded by virtuoso trumpeter Mike Lovatt, explodes with fresh new arrangements and exciting compositions by Colin Skinner.

Packed with orchestral colour, the group features the highly acclaimed vocalist Anna-Jane Casey, swinging French horns, jazz rhythms section, an array of Latin percussion, timpani, harp, and tubas. 

Starring guest vocalist Anna-Jane Casey fresh from her starring role as Sybil in Faulty Towers. With 40 years experience in the West End and beyond, Anna-Jane's credits range from Grease, CATS, West Side Story, Chicago and much more. 

Access to Pre-Concert: The 7.30pm performance by Mike Lovatt's Brass Pack will be preceded by a short (5 minute) pre-concert performance by young brass players from Perth & Kinross at 7.15pm. The young players will have taken part in a masterclass with Mike and his team earlier in the day, and can't wait to share their talents! Your ticket to Brass Hits Hollywood gives you entry to the pre-concert. Please note that the auditorium doors will close from 7.15pm - 7.20pm to allow the performance to take place without interruption. Doors will reopen again at 7.20pm.

Meet the Stars - Mike Lovatt

Mike Lovatt is a UK virtuoso trumpeter, recording artist, sought after teacher and musical director who is internationally recognized for his wide ranging stylistic ability. He is Principal Trumpet of the Grammy nominated John Wilson Orchestra, the BBC Big Band, Superbrass, Andrew Cottee’s Dreamtown Orchestra and is featured as soloist on many film scores including most recently Marvel’s ‘Avengers Endgame’ and the Judy Garland Bio Pic ‘Judy’.

Mike is Professor of Trumpet at The Royal Academy of Music and was proud to be awarded the prestigious position of The Derek Watkins’ Chair of Trumpet which he has held since 2013. He is also Professor at The Royal College of Music, Associate Artist at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and visiting Professor at the Royal Welsh and the Birmingham Conservatoires. Reaching out to young players through master classes and directing brass projects forms an essential part of Mike’s working life.

Mike’s recording career include the James Bond films Tomorrow Never Dies and Die Another Day, Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows with The London Symphony Orchestra, the award winning Chicago, Kevin Spacey’s Beyond the Sea, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Madagascar, and The Corpse Bride.

Meet the Stars - Anna-Jane Casey

Anna-Jane Casey has been performing professionally for over 40 years in all areas of TV, theatre and music. She hails from Lancashire and came to London aged 16 to appear in the musical CATS. She was in the original West End casts of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, GREASE, CHILDREN OF EDEN and has recently been playing Sybil Fawlty in John Cleese’s FAWLTY TOWERS THE PLAY at the Apollo theatre, her 15th West End production.

She has toured the UK extensively with productions such as WEST SIDE STORY, MACK AND MABEL, CALENDAR GIRLS and MOTHER GOOSE playing opposite Sir Ian McKellen and John Bishop, for which she won the British Pantomime Award for Best Supporting Performer. 

She worked alongside Eddie Redmayne and Jessie Buckley on the critically acclaimed 2021 revival of CABARET and has regularly performed with some of the best orchestras in Great Britain including the Royal Philharmonic, the Central Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Concert Orchestra, the RTE and National Orchestra of Ireland and the Halle, as well as internationally with the Teatro Massimo orchestra of Palermo and has a long standing relationship with the John Wilson Orchestra. Her version of Tap Your Troubles Away at the 2012Proms has had over 1 million views and she can be seen singing with
Seth McFarlane, of FAMILY GUY fame, in the same John Wilson Broadway prom.

She has been seen on EASTENDERS, CORONATION STREET, SILENT WITNESS, CASUALTY, HOLBY CITY, THE FULL MONTY and regularly performs her own cabaret here in the UK and worldwide on Cunard’s fleet of ships.
