Seabright Productions presents
THE ONLY WAY IS DOWNTOWN

Written and performed by Luke Kempner.
Directed by Owen Lewis. Script edited by Jeremy Limb

Finish time approx 9.45pm

Following two sell-out Edinburgh runs, two West End seasons and UK tours, impressionist Luke Kempner – star of YouTube hit Downstairs At Downton and the musicals Les Mis and Avenue Qonce again tours his solo show around the UK in spring 2015.

As celebrities start appearing at the Abbey, cultures clash and eras hilariously collide in this brilliant parody. Building on the multi-character original scenario of his YouTube video, Luke has created an original story in which the characters of Downton Abbey are in crisis and have to call upon modern celebrities to help the cast of Downton save the estate from financial ruin – again!

Writer/performer Luke Kempner has recently appeared in Sleeping Beauty for Salisbury Playhouse, directed by Joyce Branagh and as the Professor in the UK tour of South Pacific, directed by Bartlett Sher. He created a role in new musical LIFT at the Soho Theatre, directed by Steven Paling. He's also appeared in the UK tours of Avenue Q, directed by Jason Moore and Les Miserables, directed by Laurence Connor. Luke is a graduate of the Guildford School of Acting.

Director Owen Lewis most recently staged solo shows for Suggs, Mrs Moneypenny and Hardeep Singh Kohli; previous stage credits include the Olivier Award nominated Eric and Little Ern.

‘Luke Kempner's riotous one-man show...a blissful flight of surreal fancy.’ **** Whatsonstage

‘Remarkable, tour de force one-man show. If this doesn’t prove a wow in 'Edinburgh and beyond, then I’m Dame Maggie Smith.’ **** Daily Telegraph

‘The Energizer Bunny of impressionists.’ The Huffington Post

‘Kempner’s script is consistently funny... his Downton impersonations are a deconstructive delight’ **** Metro
