Winner of the 2014 Northern Ireland International Organ Competition, Andrew Forbes, who comes from Perth, was appointed as the Director of Music of Glasgow Cathedral in October 2014. Andrew is reading for a Masters Degree in Naval Architecture, and has held the organ scholarships of Glasgow University and St. Mary’s Cathedral, Edinburgh.

In demand as both a soloist and accompanist, Andrew has performed throughout Europe, at venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Trinity College (Cambridge) and Worcester Cathedral. As a pianist, Andrew has worked with the Dunedin Consort, NYOS, NYOS Futures, and as concerto soloist for performances of Rhapsody in Blue and Shostakovich’s 2nd Piano Concerto. Andrew is also an active continuo player, with recent performances including Buxtehude's Membra Jesu Nostri and Händel's Acis and Galatea.

Future engagements include recitals at Westminster Abbey, Christchurch Cathedral (Dublin) and St. Anne’s Cathedral (Belfast). More information can be found at www.andrewforbes.org
